About Us

Al Dukkan Gallery was founded in 1999 by a Bahraini collector - art lover Mrs. Samia Abdulla Yateem in Al Qufool, Bahrain. Al Dukkan is considered as the first gallery space located in Manama that focuses on traditional Bahraini art, fashion, antiques, including education. The concept of the gallery is to spot the light on the traditional Bahraini art in a modern way which can inform the future generations about the history of art in Bahrain, every antique or product in the gallery is related to a different generation starting from 1930 until today. Al Dukkan collaborated with a number of Bahraini and international artists which are Abdulla Al Muharraqi, Omar Al Rashid, Abdulrahim Shareef, Rashid Al Khalifa, Nihad Al Shater, Salwa Ameen, from Egypt the two international artists the late Hassan Hishmat, and Nazli Mathkour, and from Iran, Farishta, who gave art educational workshops in the gallery. During 2020, Al Dukkan Gallery started offering new workshops related to art and nature, allowing the publics to discover a new aspect of art through online classes lectured by well known Bahraini artists.
